Félicitations Sachin

Sachin Priolkar, a colleague and good friend finally tied the knot with long time girl friend Supriya yesterday.
Sachin was introduced to me by Pradnya Shenoy- another wonderful colleague, around August-September 2010 when i had applied for an IJP at workplace. Sachin gave me insight in to the job role i had applied for which i was able to clinch it a few months later. Thereafter he has been my mentor and a person to whom i turn to for advice. He helps clear the haze around and see things in a different angle.

On occasion of your marriage Sachin, i wish you all the best for your married life along with  your spouse Supriya. May you always feel as close as you do this day. May your lives be graced with good health. May you always find happiness in your home, and may it be a refuge from the storms of life. May your love grow ever stronger as you share your lives together, and may your future be even more wonderful than you dreamed possible.

Congratulations and wish you a Happy Married Life!!

Inducted At Last!!!

The much Awaited day for the Indian Navy finally dawned on 16th November when a mammoth 44,500-tonne warship was commissioned into the Indian Navy at the Sevmash Shipyard severodvinsk Russia at a handing over ceremony attended by Defence Minister A K Antony, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and senior government and naval officials of the two countries.
The induction brings the curtains down on a 13-year saga of carrier reconstruction marred by recurrent time slippages, cost overruns and edgy political negotiations. On Saturday morning, the dignitaries were given a ceremonial Guard of Honour by Indian and Russian naval personnel. The Russian flag on the modernised vessel was lowered. Soon after Captain (Commodore) Suraj Berry, Vikramaditya’s commanding officer, read out the commissioning order, the Indian tricolour was hoisted on the vessel with a 34-men colour guard led by Lieutenant Commander H. Mehta in attendance. The naval band rendered the national anthem. The commissioning papers were signed by deputy director of Russia's arms exporter Rosoboronexport, Igor Sevastyanov and the ship's Commissioning captain Suraj Berry.
The initial $1.5 billion contract for retrofitting the carrier and buying 16 MiG-29K fighters was signed in 2004. Later, India agreed to a price escalation and has finally ended up paying over $2.33 billion.INS Vikramaditya will be escorted to India during a nearly two-month voyage by a group of warships to secure a safe sail to its new base at Karwar on the Arabian Sea coast next to Goa.
Such was the hype that NATO forces were reported snooping on the Ship even before being inducted. Track the events here.

Lonavla Trip

Last Monday, i went on a short trip with my Wife, Sister and In-laws to Lonavla. We stayed at a rented bungalow near the Express way. The weather was pleasant, didn’t rain, was just cool and windy. We went to Pawana Dam and a boat club on the way and the Wax museum. The next day we went to Tiger Leap Point, also went right up to the gates of Amby valley passing by INS Shivaji and the AFS nearby. Later to Bushi dam and then returned home Tuesday evening.

EsselWorld Trip

The last time i went to EsselWorld was way back in 1987 when i was in grade II. From then, today the park has increased many folds, introducing a Water park and the nearby Global Pagoda.
So Friday morning around 0930 we first went to see the Immense pillar-less structure and the still under construction surroundings. The lush green and beautiful garden was the best part. Thereafter around 11 we rushed to enter the Fun Zone. We sat on rides that twisted and turned and went upside down.I screamed and laughed my lungs out and enjoyed. I don't remember when last did i scream or laugh so freely. Post a bite from Dominos and soup we visited the  decommissioned INS Prabal and went Ice Skating. CCD gave us much needed warmth after the Arctic experience and then the last stop around 1700 was at the Bowling alley. thoroughly enjoyed and tired we reached home by 1800.

Life's new leaf

I have been busy with Life's new curves and have been away from regular blogging. This turn of life started on May 28th eventually leading to my marriage to Snehal on 15th December 2012. Since then the journey has never been the same again!

Marriage has the power to set the course of your life as a whole. If your marriage is strong, even if all the circumstances in your life around you are filled with trouble and weakness, it won't matter. You will be able to move out into the world in strength.
―Timothy Keller, The Meaning of Marriage: Finding Happiness in Your Most Profound Relationship.

My love has placed her little hand
With noble faith in mine,
And vowed that wedlock's sacred band
Our nature shall entwine.

My love has sworn, with sealing kiss,
With me to live -- to die;
I have at last my nameless bliss:
As I love -- loved am I!
― Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre
